from Sue Rosenberg:
TWO WAYS TO SUPPORT OUR TROOPS
Thanks to the Bush Administration cuts in VA budget, Veterans recuperating at VA Hospitals aren’t even allowed long-distance time to call home to their families over the holidays!
Veterans for Peace and Working Assets have teamed up this year to deliver phone cards to 148 VA hospitals around the country, allowing thousands of often isolated veterans to make contact with friends and family for the holiday.
LET THE VETS KNOW THAT THE PEACE MOVEMENT SUPPORTS THE TROOPS!
We want them home, safe and with those they love.
Saugerties Committee for Peace and Social Justice will collect donations and send it directly to Veterans for Peace to purchase as many phone cards as possible. You can send a donation to Saugerties Comm. For Peace and Social Justice at 301 VanVleirden Road, Saugerties 12477 or call Sue Rosenberg, at 246-3449 for more information. You can also go directly to www.veteransforpeace.org and donate on line.
