Tuesday, October 27th, 7p.m. at the Woodstock Community Center. Rally For Gilpatric, Schneer and Riccardi. FREE, bring a finger food donation. Co-sponsored by the Saugerties and Woodstock Democratic Committees.

Wednesday, October 28th 6-9p.m. at the Saugerties Senior High School auditorium. Celebrate 90 years of Women's Suffrage. A wonderful program developed by Nicole Tucker and the Saugerties High School History Club.

Saugerties women honored by the Eleanor Roosevelt Legacy

Congratulations

The mission of the Eleanor Roosevelt Legacy is inspired by the work of Eleanor Roosevelt who dedicated her life to expanding the role of women in political government. As she famously said, “Democracy is not about words, but action.”

In support of this goal, Eleanor’s Legacy takes action to increase women’s participation in Democratic politics. They raise funds to help elect women to state and local offices, as well as providing training and leadership development.

The Saugerties Democratic Committee is extremely proud that 5 of the 12 candidates from Ulster County endorsed by the Legacy committee came from Saugerties. They include town board candidate Jamie Fine, Ulster County Clerk candidate Gilda Riccardi and Ulster County Legislature candidates Marcy Goulart, Alverta Jones and Nicole Tucker. In addition, a sixth nominee, Ulster County Judge Deborah Schneer from the Town of Rochester also was endorsed.

We hope that you, the voters ,recognize the accomplishments of these exceptional women, as did the Legacy Committee and give them your support on Election Day, November 3, 2009.
